Chris “Jesus” Ferguson is one of the best known poker pros, as well as a WSOP Main Event winner in 2000. Chris Ferguson was born in Los Angeles in 1963 and has won 5 World Series of Poker bracelets.
His nickname “Jesus” stems largely from his long brown hair, but he’s just as synonymous for the black cowboy hat that he always wears at poker tournaments. While he may play the part of cowboy, there are definitely brains lurking, as his Main Event win came just after completing his PhD in Computer Science at UCLA.
