Greg Raymer was born in Lansing, Michigan in. In 2004 Raymer won the Main Event of the World Series of Poker, taking home more than $5 million in what was at the time the largest win in poker history. Formerly an attorney, Raymer had played high stakes poker for years and was far from an amateur when he won the Main Event.
Greg Raymer’s nickname is “Fossilman” due to the fact that he often uses fossils as card protectors when he plays poker.
