Joseph Hachem was born in Lebanon and moved to Australia with his family when he was a teenager. He currently lives in West Preston, a suburb of Melbourne, with his wife and four children and is a former chiropractor.
In 2005 he bested 5618 players other players in the 2005 World Series of Poker No Limit Hold’em Championship Event, taking home first place and $7.5 million in winnings. While 2005 was Hachem’s first trip to the World Series of Poker, hehad been playing poker seriously for more than ten years, so his victory was no fluke. Besides winning the WSOP bracelet in the Main Event, he also placed 10th in the 2005 WSOP $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event.
