Robert Varkonyi

Robert Varkonyi was born in New York in 1961. He lives in Great Neck, Long Island with his wife (and fellow poker player) Olga and his daughter Victoria.

Varkonyi originally started playing poker while a student at MIT and won $2 million at the 2002 World Series of Poker Main Event. Not only was he an amateur when he won, but Varkonyi has the dubious distinction to be considered one of the least talented WSOP Main Event winners, largely due to the fact that he repeatedly won big pots on his way to victory with some very shaky hands which he was very lucky to win.
