Scotty Nguyen was born in South Vietmam and moved to the United States in 1979 to play poker. The move proved to be a smart one as he’s won 4 World Series of Poker bracelets, including the Main Event title in 1998.
Known for his flashy look and attitude, Scotty Nguyen worked his way up to the top of the poker world, starting first as a poker dealer in the casinos. He’s famous for saying “yeah baby” and “baby” at the table, but his most famous quote came right before he won the Main Event at the World series, as he said opponent Kevin McBride, “You call this one and it’s all over, baby.” Kevin did call and it was, indeed, all over.
