Raising Issue
Posted by WSOP in Texas Holdem FAQ on September 30th, 2008
For example we have seen the flop and player A has $20, player B has $8, and player C has $20. Supposing that player A who is the first to act bets $5, and then player B follows by raising all-in $8.
What do you think, should the bet to player C be $8 or else $10?
Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!
Andrew
Andrew,
Since player C is calling a raise, the amount that he needs to call is $8.
Burning Cards in Holdem
Posted by WSOP in Texas Holdem FAQ on September 30th, 2008
Hello,
Just recently, I played together with some friends. I actually won everything, so supposedly, I don’t have to worry for anything. But I’m wondering if we dealt right.
Yesterday, I watched a certain Las Vegas game and I’ve seen that the dealer at some point, before the flop, burns 3 cards. I’m bothered. What do you think, how many cards should the dealer burn in total? And when should he burn cards?
Thanks. By the way, great site!
Max
Max,
When dealing a Texas Holdem game, the dealer burns one card before the flop, one before the turn, and one before the river. The total number of cards that should be burned is 3.
