<p><em><strong>In home games it is customary to offer someone to cut cards to cut down on suspicion of cheating.  If you ever play a tournament in a live casino you will notice that just before the deal, the dealer will cut the cards on a cut card.  This is part of their required routine.  Cutting helps to randomize the cards as well.</strong></em></p>
