World Series of Poker – The Real Picture I
For all those who have been following the game closely, winning WSOP has been a dream. For people entering the world of poker, WSOP seems to be a mirage. No matter which ever level of play you are into there are some facts you need to know about WSOP.
These are some of the factors that you need to consider if you are looking ahead to participate in The World Series of Poker. These rules can script your way to success and who knows, maybe the next WSOP champion in the making.
Before we proceed, lets keep in mind that these rules might change from time to time and its in your best interest to follow the changes regularly. Let’s start with the rules and regulations.
1. To participate in the WSOP tournament you need to be over the age of 21 years.
2. The tournament and the satellite seats are randomly fixed.
3. All cards needs to be turned face up once the player has all in and the action is completed.
4. Chip race begins with the first seat. a player can’t be raced out of the tournament and in case the player runs out of chip then he would be given one chip of the lowest value which is still in play.
5. Odd chips usually go the player with the highest hand. In case of multiple players having high hand, in flop, the chip is given to the player on the left side of the button. In games like Stud, chip is given to the player with the highest card by suit.
6. Each of the side pots are split up as a separate pot and they are not mixed before they are split.
7. Once a considerable amount of time has been spent and the clock is called for, players are given a minute to take a decision. In case of no action the countdown begins. If still the player fails to take an action, the hand will be called dead.
8. Dead button exists in WSOP tournaments.
9. There might be a penalty called if a card goes off the table before the action or if there is a soft play or any such incident.
10. In case of players raising the bet by 50% of the previous bet, then the player will be required to make a full raise. It would be exactly the minimum raise allowed.
