New York New York!

Last night I took a walk with Erik along the strip. The thing I enjoyed the most was the Rollercoaster at the New York, New York Casino. The casino is built as a copy of famous buildings from New York, such as Empire States building and the Statue of Liberty. The rollercoaster starts inside of the casino and goes all around the building/buildings.

It was fun going with Erik since he is really afraid of heights and the first stage of the Rollercoaster is a really long climbing section straight up to the Vegas sky. After that it’s all downhill and everything is happening really fast. There were two loops, one regular and one twister. I wish the ride was more than one lap but for 15 dollars it was still worth it.

Today we went to the stratosphere tower. I heard it is the highest building west of Mississippi! On top of the entire thing they have a number of carousels. If Eric was afraid of the Rollercoaster at New York, New York he was now shaking and almost crying :)

We paid about 20 dollars each to get a ticket to the tower view and the “big shot”. The big shot was a shoot up carousel on top of the tower. It didn’t actually take you that much higher but the sensational feeling of almost flying still made it a fun ride. Erik barely made it up to the ride but I must say I am really impressed with how he is overcoming his fears.

After the thrilling ride we ate dinner at the “Top of the world” restaurant inside the tower. The floor was slowly turning and it gave us a chance to see the view from every angle. The service was great as well as the food. For about 30-40 dollars each including tip, it was well worth it.
